Floetta Jane Day Harness, 64, of the Capital Hill community, passed away September 10, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida. Born June 23, 1946, she was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Letha Watson Day; brother, Lushion Divine Day; sister, Betty Loretta Williams; nieces, Leah Janetta Chambers and Tena Renae McAuther; and mother- and father-in-law, Roosevelt and Ethel Harness. She was a long-time member of Bull Creek United Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Harold Harness of the Capital Hill community; sons: Rickie Lee Harness and wife, Jeannene, and Scott Eugene Harness and wife, Loretta (Sis), all of the Capital Hill community; daughter, Mary Etta Harness and husband, Rodney, of the Capital Hill community; eight grandchildren, brothers: Larry Day and wife, Teressa, of Ga., Michael (Cotton) Day and wife, Jean, of Colo.; sister, Janetta Ballew and husband, Dallas, of Ga.; brother-in-law, Dillsome Williams of the Straight Fork community; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted September 14, at Bull Creek United Baptist Church with Rev. J.R. Massengale, Rev. Carlie Duncan, Rev. Dudley Harness, and Rev. Don Hughett officiating. Music was provided by the Lloyd Family singers. Interment followed at Bull Creek United Baptist Church Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
