He was my grandfather's, great grandpa and my papa had faint memories of him. He only saw him maybe twice in his life. After divorcing his first wife Sarah following a difficult time of loosing a child, William went to California where he married a second time. There is actually a website about he and his second wife if you Google their names. William was a poet and wrote some beautiful poems and I have had the pleasure of reading a few. He also became a judge in California. His family was upper middle class to wealthy. When I first began my ancestry work I found a William Huntley buried in Coos County where we are from and said I found him grandpa. My grandpa furrowed his brows and said I don't think so honey, my great grandpa is buried in California. Well I didn't listen and put this picture with another Williams information and caused a lot of confusion on ancestry websites, but this picture correctly belongs to William Lewis Huntley. I do think he had a child with his second wife, but I don't think the child survived to reproduce.
