James is the son of James & Frances McClendon Mauldin.

James and Elisabeth had three children:

Jennie Caroline Mauldin Hogland
Robert Lee Mauldin
Roy Tillman Mauldin

James served in the U.S. Civil War, Confederate, Company A, 26th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry. James was honorably discharged on June 29, 1865 at Point Lookout, MD.

James married Elisabeth Wooten
January 14, 1864 in Lowndes County, MS.

James and Elisabeth had two of their grandchildren living with them during the Census. The Grand children's names were Sarah & Lee. Sarah and Lee belonged to their son Robert Lee Mauldin and his first wife.

My Aunt Lelah Mauldin Byrd was the one that told me years ago that her Grandparents was buried here at Joel, she use to bring her Daddy Roy T. Mauldin to this Cemetery.
