William K. "Billy" Andrews, Sr., age 76, of Columbus, MS, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 12, 2013. He passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, January 14, 2013, at 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Pastor Junior Eads and Rev. Russell Brown officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Monday, January 14, 2013, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.

Mr. Andrews was born July 7, 1936, in Columbus, MS, to the late Lucian Pascal and Margaret Evelyn Lancaster Andrews. He was a lifelong resident of Columbus and Lowndes County and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force. Mr. Andrews retired from the Columbus Fire Department after 25 years of service and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Joyce Baucom Andrews of Columbus, MS, daughters, Sandy Davis of Columbus, MS, and Diane Eads and her husband Junior of columbus, MS, sons, Bill Andrews of Columbus, MS, and Scott Andrews and his wife Erika of Columbus, MS, brothers, Dwight Andrews of Columbus, MS, and Larry Andrews of Columbus, MS, sisters, Regina Andrews of Columbus, MS, and Elaine Eaves of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Derrick Andrews, Lantz Eads, Kolby Andrews, Leanne Leuschen, Jessica Andrews, Brandi Davis, Torri Andrews, Kendall Andrews, Collin Andrews, and Easton Andrews, great grandchild, Juli'anna Andrews, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Lantz Eads, Derrick Andrews, Kolby Andrews, Lewis Jaynes, Stanley Clark, Richard Stripling, Ralph Dyke, and M. C. Pate. Honorary pallbearers will be active and retired members of the Columbus Fire Department, staff and members of Gentiva Hospice, and lifelong friend James Brassfield.

Memorials may be made to the Alzhiemer's Association, 1900 Dunbarton Dr., Jackson, MS, 39216.

Mr. Andrews will greatly miss his 58 Chevy, his John Deere tractor, and his loyal pets. He enjoyed going camping, dancing, and taking late afternoon walks. He loved spending time with his many grandchildren, having taught them so many things about life. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Wanda. Memories of Mr. Andrews will be cherished by all those who loved him dearly.
