Clyde Crissman, Kittanning borough policeman, died at 2:45 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, May 30, 1945, in his home, 1052 North Grant avenue. Mr. Crissman, a member of the Kittanning borough police force for seven years, had not been in good health and was not able to care for police force duties since last December. Although he had not been well, his condition was not considered serious and he was about his home as usual on Wednesday. He was stricken suddenly with a heart attack and death followed in a short time. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Irene Crissman, and a son, Sgt. Thomas Merle Crissman, stationed at Camp Hood, Tex., and Sgt. Crissman's wife, who has made her home with her husband's parents. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Samuel Bagnall of Philadelphia, Mrs. Otha Wyant of Kittanning, and Mrs. Harry Kaltenbach of Conowango, N.Y., four half-brothers, Barnard, Charles, Walter and Harold Crissman., all of Aliquippa; and two step-sisters, Mrs. George Wiles of New Kensington and Mrs. A.D. Fennell of Kansas City, MO. Mrs. Crissman was a member of the First Baptist church of Kittanning. For 23 years Mr. Crissman was an active member of Kittanning Volunteer Hose Company No. 4. Funeral arrangements have not been completed awaiting word from his soldier-son. Friends will be received in the late home. The Rhodes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
