Funeral for Mr. Godfrey "Layton" Glover, age 86, of Eufaula was held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 3 P.M. at Sardis Freewill Baptist Church in Eufaula with Bro. Billy Bevin officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clayton, Alabama.
Mr. Glover was born May 28, 1926 in Barbour County, AL and passed away at Flowers Hospital on Thursday, January 24, 2013, after a brief illness. He was proceeded in Death by his sister Allene Waters of Simms, AL. a step daughter Mary Jane Streetman, of Powder Springs GA. His wife Thelma A. Glover passed away Dec 04, 2002.
He is survived by 1 daughter Charlotte (Robert) Phelan of Enterprise AL, I step Son Douglas (Debra) George of Douglasville, GA. A Special Granddaughter Lisa George also of Douglasville. He also has a sister Emma (Burdell)Martin of Milton, FL.
He had a special friend/partner Annie Pelham of Eufaula, AL. And had several grandchildren and great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
