ROCKBRIDGE: Carl Francis Bailey, age 85, of Rockbridge, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation, Logan, Ohio.

Born April 21, 1927, in Laurel Township, Hocking, County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Samuel Frederick and Golda Letha (Stiverson) Bailey.

Carl was a graduate of Gibisonville High School. He worked as a farmer, school bus driver and later retired from General Electric after thirty-two years of service and was a member of Gibisonville Mount Olive United Methodist Church.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of nearly sisty-five years, Nita B. (Vorhees) Bailey of Rockbridge, Ohio; four daughters, Sharon (Bob) Wenger of Topeka, Kansas, Carla (Patrick Collins) Bailey of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Leeann Hacker of Rockbridge, Ohio, and Barbara (Clarence) Winigman of Rockbridge, Ohio; six grandchildren, Joshua Hacker, Eli *Chantelle Mundy) Hacker, Cody (Heather) Hacker, , Luke (Tisha) Hacker, Carrie Patnode and Patricia Atkinson; four great-grandchildren, Evie and Holten Hacker & Clayton and Owen Hacker.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers; one great-granddaughter, Eiliana Hacker; and son-in-law, Terry Patnode.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Gibisonville Mount Olive United Methodist Church with Reverend John T. Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Olde Methodist Cemetery, Gibisonville, Ohio.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio and one hour prior to funeral service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Carl's memory be made to Mount Olive United Methodist Church Building Fund, 16228 State Route 678, Rockbridge, Ohio 43149.
