Lydia was the fifth of seven children born in 1885 to Laura Saylor and Tobias Detrick in Delaware County, Pa.
Her father was a Civil War veteran .
In earlier years,she worked as a sorter in a silk mill.
Lydia married Melvin P Lawrence in 1907. They had three daughters: Their first daughter ,born in 1908 was stillborn.Viola ( Harry Van Winkle)was born in 1910 and Vera(Robert Napier).in 1920.
She died at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Upper Darby Pa.Prior to her death she had lived in Marcus Hook for thirty years prior to her move to Chester ten years ago.In addition to her husband and daughters she was survived by four grandchildren and one brother George Detrick of Springfield,Pa.
