Armella R. Svensson, 88, of Winch Road, Lakewood, formerly of 217 Park St., Jamestown, died at 9:10 p.m. Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) in WCA Hospital.
She was born June 6, 1914, in Johnstown, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Grace Felix Rosage.

Prior to her retirement in 1956, she was employed by Marlin Rockwell Corporation in Falconer in the cost department. She earlier had worked for the former Blackstone Corporation in Jamestown and during World War II for Sylvania in Lock Haven, Pa.

She was a communicant of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Jamestown and more recently Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakewood. She was a member of the Lakewood Golden Agers and former member of Ingjald Lodge 65 IOV. She was active in the M.J. Fletcher School PTA and had worked as a volunteer in the Coffee Shop of the former Jamestown General Hospital for many years until it closed.

She will be remembered for her caring, spirit, perseverance and faith. She was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. She will be missed greatly by her cat, Tyrone.

She is survived by a son, Roy Svensson, with whom she made her home, and a brother, Martin Rosage of Westfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.H. Leroy Svensson, whom she married June 13, 1953, and who died Jan. 15, 1985; two sisters, Thelma and Betty Rosage; and four brothers: Herman, Gerald, Thomas and Arthur Rosage.
