Father Hurt As Lightning
Bolt Follows Wire Fence

Fifteen-year-old Regal Whitcomb, Jr., was killed Friday afternoon when he was struck by lightning while assisting his father in the erection of a wire fence on their River Road farm during a sudden thunderstorm. Regal Whitcomb, Sr., dean of boys at Northside High School, was injured by the lightning bolt which travelled the length of the fence, knocking him to the ground, after striking the boy.
