John W. Stabnau, 87, of Newville, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001 in Swaim Health Center, West Pennsboro Township.
Born June 19, 1913 in Duncannon, he was a son of the late Gottfred and Maria Johanna Neubaum Stabnau and the widower of Mary Kirk Stabnau and Lena Wagner Stabnau.
Mr. Stabnau had retired as a supervisor with Atlantic Refining Co.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Newville, and F&AM Hollidaysburg Juniata Lodge 282.
Mr. Stabnau is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Kauffman of Carlisle and Sharon Miller of Newville; a stepdaughter, Betty Lou Scheid of Simsbury, Conn.; a brother, Frederick W. of Tonto Basin, Ariz.; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many step-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown. Arrangements are under the direction of Egger Funeral Home, Newville.
