Funeral services for Winston E. Campbell who died at an Augusta infirmary Friday evening after suffering an illness of a few days, will be held from the McCormick Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. A. Thad Parsons, pastor of the church and former pastor of Mr. Campbell, in charge. Interment will be in the McCormick cemetery. Mr. McCormick's six brothers will serve a pallbearers.
Mr. Campbell was a native of Anderson county but until several months ago had made his home in McCormick since 1916 where he operated a dry cleaning business. In 1920 he married Miss Georgia White near Plum Branch. Surviving him are his wife and the following children: Cornelia, Winston E. Jr., Bedola, Virginia, Lillian and Florence, who is only a few months old, his father and mother, Mr. [Albert Bailey] and Mrs. A. B. [Ellen Mary McMahan] Campbell of McCormick, and the following brothers and sisters: Gary E. [Evans] Campbell, McCormick; Walter Robert Campbell, Sanford, Fla.; O. C. [Ollie Clarence] Campbell, Greenwood; J. G. [James Garland] Campbell, McCormick; S. B. [Sanford Bailey] Campbell, Pleasant Lane; W. M. [William Mack] Campbell, Calhoun Falls; F. R. [Fuller Reed] Campbell, McCormick, and Mrs. J. A. [Jack Alfred] Edmunds [Mary Myrtle Campbell], Jacksonville, Fla.
Mr. Campbell was a member of the Baptist church, the Junior 0rder of American Mechanics, and a citizen always interested in the progress and welfare of his church and community. His death brings profound sorrow to relatives and a host of friends as well as in the Augusta vicinity where had lived for the past several months and in the territory served by him as an employee of the Collins Baking Company.
