Adam Ray "Curly" Crandall, 69, died at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 29, 1993, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, where he had been a patient eight days, following four years of illness. Born Nov. 13, 1923, at Mt. Carmel, IL, he was a graduate of Vincennes (IN) High School.

He first married Opal Bledsoe on Jan. 11, 1945; they divorced. He then married Mary Edith Renfrow in Lafayette. She survives, and is retired from Purdue University.

Mr. Crandall had lived in Lafayette 44 years. He drove a truck for Commercial Motor Freight prior to retirement in 1983. He also was an antique dealer. He was a member of Greenbush Street Baptist Church and Teamsters Local 135. He was an avid hunter and sportsman.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Darrell R. Crandell of Amarillo, TX, Gary D. Crandall of Indianapolis, and Dennis M. Crandall of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia A. Edwards of Indianapolis; a stepson, David Jones of Lafayette; two stepdaughters, Deborah (Mrs. Raymond) Daniels of Lafayette and Janet Y. Jones of Athens, GA; two sisters, Fern (Mrs. Jerry) Martin of Lafayette and Edna Mae (Mrs. Carl) Schorre of Highland, CA; 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by a son, David E. Crandall; and a stepson, Randall L. Jones.
