Verda Gaspard Nugent, 90, a native of Cottonport, a resident of Brandon, Miss., and a former resident of Baker, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010. The visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home Wednesday, May 26, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survivors include her son, Mickey Nugent and wife Susan; two daughters, Beryl Hemphill and husband W.H., and Linda Terry and husband Nat Terry; five granddaughters, Wendy Taylor, Lorie Ramsey, Jodie Burrell, Tina Jaramillo and Dori Gordon; and two grandsons, Mark Hemphill and Todd Hemphill. Preceded in death by her husband, Cilton Nugent; parents, six brothers and a sister.
