William Henry "Bill" Barrett, Jr., 81, of Meigs died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Graveside funeral services were held 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born October 14, 1926, in Grady County, Mr. Barrett worked in construction. He was married to the late Ellen Barrett and was the son of the late William H. "Joe" Barrett, Sr. and Erie Miller Barrett. He was preceded in death by a son, William T. Barrett; three brothers, Joseph Barrett, James Barrett, and David Barrett; and a sister, Dorothy Willis.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Barrett of Boston, GA and Ricky Barrett of Star, NC; three daughters, Betty B. Hopkins of Rocky Face, GA and Lisa B. Doremus of Bartow, FL and Katherine Barrett of Bartow, FL; four sisters, Bertha Martin of Wauchula, FL, Martha Martin of Ringold, GA, Rhodia Frye of Masaryktown, FL, and Patricia Bryant of Eastman, GA; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
