Livia was the youngest sister of Brigadier General Sylvanus Thayer, "Father of the Military Academy." She was the 10th. and last child in the Thayer family. She was also related to U.S. President John Adams living a short distance from the Adams home. Her ggggrandfather, Joseph Penniman, built the house that President Adams was born in.

Father: NATHANIEL THAYER 1752 - 1829. Mother: DORCAS FAXON 1756 - 1840.
