Samuel T Mercer was the son of Joseph Edward "Joe Edd" Mercer and America Lee "Lela" Ferguson Mercer Williams.

He was a veteran of World War II,

Sam T. Mercer, age 86, passed away Sunday August 24, 2003 in Corpus Christi, Texas after a short Illness.
Sam was born February 15, 1917 to [Joe] Edd and America Lee Mercer. Mr. Mercer was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II. He retired from Exxon in Venezuela in 1972 and was a member of tha Taxpayer's Association.
Mr. Mercer is survived by one brother Walter Mercer of California; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Mercer of Corpus Christi and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by Patsy Leroy, James Edward, ED, and Mike Mercer.
Visitations will be held Wednesday August 27, 2003 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm at Seaside Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Seaside Memorial Park at 4:00 pm.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Christus Spohn Hospice personnel at Heartland of Corpus Christi and Lynnhaven Nursing Home.
