Kenneth E. "Kenny" Hartong, 84, passed away January 13, 2013.

He was born in Greentown and lived in the area all his life. Kenny retired in 1985 from Teledyne Monarch after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and St. Vincent DePaul Society. Kenny enjoyed golfing, and playing cards. He was a meticulous mechanic that enjoyed servicing his own cars and was a general jack of all trades. Kenny enjoyed his trips to Florida and spending time with his family.

Preceded in death by parents; brother, Donald; and daughter, Barbara. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ellen; sons, Bruce (Kathy) of Randolph, Allan of Uniontown, Timothy (Beverly) of Ravenna and Thomas (Sharon) of Rootstown; daughters, Karen (Al) King of South Carolina, Susan (Gary) Andrews of Suffield, Mary Kay Willis of Florida, and Betty (Jerry) Wolfe of North Canton; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Norma (Ronald) Humbert of North Canton.

A memorial mass will be held Thursday, 11a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260 with Father Thomas Acker celebrating. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street, (1 block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Avenue) Uniontown, Ohio 44685 and at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. The family suggests memorials to the church endowment fund.
