The daughter of Henry A Sasse and Hallie Byrd Lovejoy Sasse (Hale Holdinghausen), Vivian Francis was born shortly after Hallie divorced Minola Cora's father, P. L. Hall (Hale) and remarried to Henry A Sasse. They were living in Stephens county, Texas when Vivian was barely 3 yrs old. Henry was a stockman, so they traveled to various places including the 1930 census in Clovis, Curry, New Mexico. During the 1940 census Vivian was finishing her degree to be a teacher. She married Walter Love Collard 8 Dec 1942 in Tarrant county, Texas. They had one boy, Felix Robert Collard. There are some records that show Vivian and Walter may have renewed their vows in 1962. However, they did divorce in 1969. With their son out on his own, Vivian moved around teaching and seeing different areas of the Southwest. She met and married Francis deBuda abt 1983 and both of them promoted art through various events and promotions. She died with Francis by her side in Roswell, Chaves, New Mexico.
