SALTILLO – Ethel Mae "Big Mom" Dunaway, 88, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at her home in Saltillo after an extended illness. She was born June 9, 1924, in Saltillo to Claude and Alma Archibald Putt. She worked at Playcraft and the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a longtime member of Mayfield Church of Christ. She loved to sew and cook, and was known as "Big Mom" by everyone who knew her.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Minister Clyde Mize and Minister Leon Willis officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Paulette Frazier and Robert of Saltillo; one granddaughter, Suzette Ethridge and Anthony of Saltillo; two great-granddaughters, Kelsie Hankins and Andy of Tupelo, and Taylor Witt and Stuart of Saltillo; her namesake and great-great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Mae Hankins of the home; special caregiver, Melissa Ethridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Dunaway; her parents; and one brother, Jack Putt.

Visitation will be noon until service time Sunday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
