Mary Margaret Riehl, 97, of Fremont died January 21, 2013 at Fremont Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1915 in Fremont, the daughter of Spencer and Rose (Bauer) Blue.

Mary attended St. Joseph High School and left after her junior year to take care of her younger siblings. She later took the High School Equivalency Exam without attending any classes and received her certificate on August 17, 1989, an achievement that made her very proud. On June 14, 1933 she married Carl J. Riehl at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1995.

Mrs. Riehl was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was formerly employed by Bintz Clothing Store and Montgomery Ward. Mary enjoyed baking, dancing with her husband as a member of the Buttons & Bows Square Dance Club, wintering in Florida and writing letters to all of her Florida friends when she was no longer able to travel.

Surviving is her daughter Barbara (Gary) Ohms and son-in-law Rondall Blackburn of Fremont; grandchildren, Larry Riehl, Karen Kimmet, Lisa Mueller, Kelly Miller, Amy Root, Richard Riehl, Joanne Streacker, Robert Blackburn, Janice Blackburn, Michael Riehl, Jeffrey Riehl, Jennifer Riehl, Doug Ohms and Deanna Ohms; 28 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sisters, Helen Laubert, Kate Weiler, Elaine Mackey; brothers, Maurice and Edward Blue; sons Larry and Patrick Riehl; daughter Sally Blackburn; daughters-in-law Margaret "Peggy" Riehl, Lois Riehl; and infant grand-daughter Cathleen Blackburn.

Visitation will begin at 10:00A.M. on Friday from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 500 Smith Road, Fremont, OH, with a Mass of Memorial beginning at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
