Barbara Janet Lutz Scronce 74, born in Hickory, N.C. on June 28, 1938, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 20, 2013.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl "Sonny" Scronce, her infant son, Bruce Scronce, and her sister, Ann Rudisill.
She leaves behind her brother, James Lutz, and her sister Judy Davis, both of Hickory, N.C., her children, Tanya Kim Will and Carl Derrick Scronce, her son-in-law, Douglas Will, her daughter-in-law, Belinda Scronce, her five grandchildren, Courtney Nicole Groves, Jessica Shannon Hoover, Jackie Bainbridge, Victoria Alexandra Othold, and Chase Anthony Will, her three great grandsons, Logan Daniel Hoover, Cameron Michael Groves, and Blake Ryan Groves, all of Houston and Conroe, Texas.
Barbara grew up in Hickory, N.C. and graduated from Fred T. Foard High School in 1956. She married Carl "Sonny" Scronce and later moved to Houston, Texas.
She was employed by her son at a trucking company in Conroe, Texas, where she worked as an office manager for the last 16 years. She enjoyed her job, and was very passionate about spending time with her family, her many friends, and her little black poodle, Slick. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Park Funeral Home, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas.
A gathering will be held following the service at the home of Derrick Scronce, at 11770 Creek View Lane, Conroe, Texas 77385.
