It is with a feeling of deep sorrow that we record the death of Alfred A. Carmichael. Mr. Carmichael has been the Mo. Pacific agent in Norway since February 1899, and during that time made many friends to whom his death brings sorrow. To know him was to love him -- genial, honest, upright, with a kind word and pleasant smile for every one he quickly won a place in the hearts of all. If he had an enemy no one knew it. During his last illness kind friends did all that could be done but typhoid fever claimed its victim at 5 o'clock Tuesday morning, September 11. His father and mother were with him for the last week and took his remains to his old home at Clifton for burial. Mr. Carmichael was twenty-five years old last May. One of the saddest things in connection with his death was that he was to have been married soon and was laid to rest in what were to have been his wedding clothes. The parents and other relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
