Caroline A. Weddle, 87, of Bronson, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater, surrounded by her family.

A funeral will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Bob Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home with a reception to be held at the Word of Life Outreach Center in Quincy from 12:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Interment will be held at a later date at Elmo Cemetery in Elmo, Missouri.

Caroline was born on August 19, 1925 in Albion, Michigan to Oscar W. and Mary A. (Timmons) Covey. She attended school in Tekonsha and Quincy. She married Marshall F. Weddle on August 6, 1950 in Elmo, MO. The two met at the Tekon in Tekonsha and Marshall was from Missouri, so they made their home there until 1964 and then moved to Bronson, MI. They stayed there until 1979 and then went back to Elmo, MO. In 1987, they came back to Bronson and have lived there ever since. She had been a homemaker most of her life, raising her two boys.

Caroline was an avid reader of novels and enjoyed watching baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and watching football. Her family will remember her for her big heart and quiet demeanor. She was very supportive of the Native American community in South Dakota with her time and resources through the years.

Mrs. Weddle is survived by her sons Robert (Arlene) Weddle of Quincy and Marshall (Penny) Weddle, Jr. of Coldwater, her grandchildren Sandra (Terry) Freeman of Auburn, IN, Sheila (Ben) Banks, of Fremont, IN, Timothy (Maureen) Weddle of Fond Du Lac, WI, Philip Weddle of Bronson, Theresa (Dan) Rinehart of Bronson, Dawn (Rick) Parker of Sturgis, Carol (Rodrigo) Lopez of Sturgis, Lori Hochstedler of LaGrange, IN , Abigail Weddle of Coldwater, Erica Sattler of PA and Amy Sattler of NC, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on October 29, 1995, her parents, her sisters Orpha DeWater and Anetta Clay and her brothers John, Henry and Ralph Covey.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Salvation Army or Word of Life Outreach Center.
