DECATUR — Shirley A. Kirkwood, 73, of Flour Bluff, Texas, formerly of Decatur, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Logan and Bonita Perry on June 26, 1937 in Vandalia, Illinois and was one of eight children.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert McCoy, and five brothers, Jack, Jim, Ronald, Bill and Jerry and one sister, Helen.
Shirley leaves her husband, Loice, her brother Gene Perry of Illinois, daughter Sheri (Dodd) Skipper of Florida, daughter-in-law, Debra Troch of Leakey, Texas and grandson, Robert McCoy of Leakey, Texas, and granddaughter, April Skipper of Florida, many nieces, nephews and friends to celebrate her life.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Salem Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Society.
