James Bullis Passes Away At Farm Home
Well Known Jordan Township Farmer Succumbs Following Second Stroke of Paralysis
James Jordan, since his boyhood a resident of Jordan township, died at his farm there at six o'clock Tuesday evening after a protracted period of failing health induced by paralysis. Mr. Bullis suffered a second stroke of the disease this week and his decline from that time on was very rapid.
Mr. Bullis was a native of Grundy county, Illinois, where he was born on February 12, 1854, a son of John & Hannah Bullis, who moved to this county when James was a lad.
Surviving are Mrs. Bullis and eight children. The children are Ard, recently of this county, Nettie Adams of Fowler, Anna Shumaker of Pennville, Esther, Ben and Ara, residing at home, and Henry and Robert of Jordan township. Mrs. Frank Welch of this city is a sister of the deceased.
The funeral services will be held from the Wright Chapel at two o'clock Thursday afternoon. Burial will be made at Welsh cemetery.
