Graveside service for Adelia Christine Duffle, age 99 of Alex, OK, will be held at 2pm, Sat., Jan. 26, 2013, in the Laflin Creek Cemetery north of Alex. Rev. Jerl Joslin will officiate.

Adelia Christine was born the daughter of W. A. and Emma Tuttle on April 11, 1913 in Oakland, Illinois. She died on January 23, 2013 at her home near Alex.


Adelia attended grade school and high school at Hindsboro, Illinois. She later attended and graduated from the University of Illinois and Eastern Illinois Teachers College. After her marriage to Andrew Duffle in 1937, she came to Oklahoma where her husband was a Vo-Ag instructor at Verden and Chickasha. They left Chickasha in 1950 to work with the American Hereford Association in Washington and Kansas. After retirement, they returned to Oklahoma in 1981 and purchased a ranch east of Alex that they operated with their son, Alan.


Adelia was a member of the Parkview Christian Church, Grady County Farm Bureau, and Rural Neighbors Extension Homemakers for over 50 years. She had been active in 4-H and was a 4-H leader.


She was preceded in death by her parents W. A. and Emma Tuttle; three brothers Emery, Dale, and Harold Tuttle; one sister Nadeena Tuttle; and her husband Andrew on July 26, 1984.


Survivors include her son Alan Duffle of Alex; caregiver Barbara Roberts of Alex; sister Merle McGregor of Tyler,TX; and three grandchildren.


Interment will be in the Laflin Creek Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
