From "Morehead Family History" by Evelyn Potter Park:

Gibson Morehead was born about 1830 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. He married (1) Mary E. Cameron in 1854. They lived for a while in Carroll County, Ohio near Gibson's sister, Mary Jane Morehead-Cameron. Mary E. Cameron died in 1859.
Gibson married (2) Romana Jane Morehead about 1860/61 and she died ca 1864. He had two children by his first marriage and two by his second, however Drusilla was the only one who survived early childhood.
In a letter Gibson wrote his brother George dated June 23, 1864 from Mexico he said he'd like to settle in lower California where a big town was growing and wanted George to come out and join him there, and asked him to bring his daughter Drusilla, if he came. On the 1870 census Drusilla is found living with her grandfather, Alexander Morehead, at Steubenville' Ohio.
l. Ellenore Morehead b. 1857 d. ca 1859
2. Drusilla Morehead b. 1859, Missouri
3. Jesse born ca 1862 West Virginia (Hancock County)
4. Romana b before 1864 Hancock County, West Virginia

from Darrell Brown:

The census documents suggest that Gibson was born in late July or early August, 1833. That same year his family moved from Allegheny to a farm in the southwest corner of Hancock county, (West) Virginia. This was in Butler township but used the post office in Paris, PA. The 1860 census shows the widower Gibson and his two daughters living with his parents on this same farm.
In September 1862 Gibson married his niece Romana Jane Morehead, called "Minnie." Evidently they set up house north of his father, in Clay township, Hancock county, WV, because that is the address Gibson gave when he registered for the draft on July 1, 1863.
They had a son Jesse and a daughter Romana, both of whom died in infancy, and his wife Romana died as well, perhaps in 1864. Their graves are probably in Clay township, but they have yet to be identified. Gibson's date and place of death and burial are unknown as well. He does not appear in any further census, nor in any military service records.
