Born Sept. 24, 1947, in Wayne, Mich., he was the son of Raymond C. and Florence Salter Hartsell.
Mr. Hartsell was raised in Michigan, lived many years in Douds and, for the past few years, at Country Lane Apartments in Keosauqua. He was employed at Rockwell International in Fairfield.
Survivors include one daughter, Tonya Napolitano of Westland, Mich.; one son, Daniel Hartsell, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service for Mr. Hartsell will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ann Donat officiating. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Private burial will be at a later date in Leando Cemetery.
