MRS. MARY R. DRURY. The funeral of Mrs. Mary Rebecca Drury, who died Sunday, took place yesterday at 2424 Madison avenue, the home of her son-in-law, Mr. Frank K. Welsh, with whom she had for a number of years made her home.
The pallbearers were Messrs. John Henry Drury and Roland Drury, of Anne Arundel county; Henry A. Drury and J. William Drury, of Washington, and E. Tillard and Augustus Drury, of this city. Burial was in Loudon Park.
Mrs. Drury, who was 80 years old, belonged to a family well known in Southern Maryland for its longevity and mental attainments. A brother, Mr. Horace Jones, though 80 years old, personally directs the workings of his farm. A sister, Mrs. Sophia Jones, at 85, is still in full possession of a strong mind. Mrs. Martha Ann Drury, who died two weeks ago at the age of 84, and who was a woman of exceptional wit, continued until the month of her last illness to travel unattended, to follow current events through the press, having been a daily reader of THE SUN since its first issue, and to keep up a remarkable knowledge of current national politics. Between these two sisters there existed a close affection which outlasted the average lifetime. They were married to brothers, went to live on adjoining Western river estates and until this year had been annually together.
Mrs. Mary Drury left in this city Mrs. Frank K. Welsh, daughter; Messrs. E. Tillard and Augustus Drury, sons; Mrssrs. Frank K. Welsh, Jr., Thomas Welsh and Lawrence Welsh, grandsons; Misses Isabel, Emma, and Bessie Drury, granddaughters, and Mrs. Arthur Owens and Mrs. Edith Walbridge Crane, grandnieces.
