Dr. Robert L. Bragg, age 89, of Richmond, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at his home. Born March 29, 1923, in Connersville, to Henry M. and Maree Wysong Bragg, he was a 1941 graduate of Connersville High School. Bob went to Butler University on a basketball scholarship, where his coach was Tony Hinkle. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the Air Force Communications in the South Pacific. Bob resumed his education in 1951 at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine and Foot Surgery in Chicago, Illinois. He returned to Richmond in 1955, where he practiced until 1985. Bob was a member of Central United Methodist Church, and former member of Elks BPOE 649 and Forest Hills Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, fishing, and drawing. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Edith M. Fowler Bragg; two children, Bradley L. Bragg and Shelley A. Bragg, both of Richmond; grandson, Brandon Perry of Richmond; nephew, Kimball Hendrix of Connersville; and cousin, Roberta Welsh of Connersville. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Yvonne Hendrix; grandson, Brent L. Bragg; and nephew, Chris Church. Visitation for Dr. Robert L. Bragg will be from 11 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
