Mr. Sheffer was a former chemistry teacher at Gettysburg College and later was a mathematics teacher at Fairfield High School. He had owned and operated Sheffers Park near Biglerville until 1966. Mr. Sheffer was a memberpf St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Stoverstown.
Surviving are two sons. John A. Sheffer, Dallastown, and Dale Sheffer, Gettysburg, and six grandchildren. His pastor, the Rev. Walter Carlson, will officiate at the funeral Tuesday, at 2 p.m. from the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
