Only child of John Charles Laird and Clara Augusta Miller. Ruth-Jean was baptised by her uncle, the Rev. Daniel Mick, at the United Church in Côte-Des-Neiges.
During the 1950s she married Gordon Stuart Haram, a Montreal artist. With the birth of their two daughters, Gordie went into Commercial Art.
Ruth-Jean was the sweetest person with a beautiful disposition, sorely missed by her family and all who knew her.
She suffered from diabetes most of her adult life and sadly died at age 59.
