On September 29, 1928 Thurlow was united in marriage to Lela Kasson in Illinois. She survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include 2 daughters, Mary Ann (Donald) Maahs and Patricia (Larry) Sickler; 1 son, David Jacobson; 9 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Oscar Sherwin and Mrs. Bjorne Wrolstad.
In addition to his parents, Thurlow was preceded in death by 1 daughter and 2 sisters.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg.
Interment was in Bethany Cemetery, Wittenberg.
