John Wees was the son of John Henry and Emeline Wees. He married Julia Frances Miller on March 19, 1918 in Rochester, Minnesota. John and Emeline farmed in Milton Township, Dodge County, Minnesota from 1918 until 1930. From 1930-1957 they lived in Rochester at 806 8th Ave. SE and he worked as a carpenter for Reid Murdock and Company.
They had the following children: Maynard who died as a child, Marilyn, Leone, Joanne, Marcaline and John S. Jr..
John died of Emphysema at the Mineral Springs Sanitarium in Cannon Falls, Goodhue County, Minnesota on July 10th 1962 and was buried in the Berne Cemetery.
