George Adam Singley attended the public school and completed four years of study at Leander Clark College at Toledo, Iowa, then known as Western College. Mr. Singley returned to Moulton and worked for the R.B. Carson Lumber Company for many years and until he was called to serve as Cashier and Director of the Moulton State Savings Bank in 1908. He continued his services there until his health forced his retirement in 1933. Mr. Singley also served as Secretary of the Washington Township School Board for 50 years. George Adam Singley married Eva Barnes on January 30, 1898. Eva was born in Park County, Indiana on November 15, 1868 and at the time of her marriage was employed by August Post in Moulton who was in the wholesale binder twine business. Mr. and Mrs. Singley became the owners of the family homestead and lived their entire married life on the farm. They became the parents of seven children: George Carson, July 18, 1899, deceased July 10, 1941; Thomas Everett, November 4, 1902, deceased February 7, 1903; William Clifford, March 14, 1904; Albert Henry, December 27, 1905, deceased January 19, 1974; Helen Roberta, February 24, 1907; twin daughters, born March 22, 1910, Maude Etta and Mary Eva.
