James Bishop, a resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life, Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at home with his family by his side, he was seventy years old. He was born June 15, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Buell Cleo and Agnes Lanell Hitt Bishop. He married Miss Betty Ann Murrah, on December 31, 1985.

Mr. Bishop was of the Baptist faith and a 1960 High School graduate of Harrisburg High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam conflict and worked as a machine operator for Addison Shoe, retiring after 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering on cars and other items. He was generous with his time to all who knew him. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Jackie bishop, two sisters: Wanda Farley and Linda Burney.

James is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years: Betty Bishop of the home, two daughters: Lois Anderson of Prophetstown, Illinois, Teresa Halfacre of Wynne, Arkansas, three step-sons: Timothy Rodgers of Wynne, Arkansas, Monte Rodgers of Wynne, Arkansas, Jody Rodgers of Virginia, one brother; Charles Bishop of Lexington, Tennessee, two sisters; Agnes Sharp of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Penny Vick of Marked Tree, Arkansas and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne. Interment will follow in Farm Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Visitation will be held, Thursday, prior to the service from 1 till 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
