Jack Hal Howard enlisted in the Marines and was a Naval Aviator, serving on the U.S.S. Wright during the Korean conflict. He joined Eastern Airlines and was based in New Orleans, La. and Atlanta, Ga. He played the trumpet in a Dixieland Jazz Band made up of Eastern pilots. After moving the family to San Antonio, TX in 1970, he retired from Eastern and died in 1988.
