Donald Phillip Beck, 74, of Frazee, died on Thursday, Oct. 4. 2001, at the Frazee Care Center.
He was born June 17, 1927, in Becker County, the son of William and Bella (Pederson) Beck. He grew up and attended country school in Becker County, and graduated from Frazee High School. From 1951 to 1953, he served his country in the United States Marines. He then joined the United States Reserves.
On Aug. 8, 1954, he married Marlene and they made their first home in Spokane, Wash. He worked in Spokane with his brother, Willard, in the drywall business. In 1956, he moved his family to Wolf Lake, and started Beck Drywall with his brother, Raymond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roy; and one sister Marion.
Mr. Beck enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. For the last nine years he received wonderful care from his family.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene Beck; one son, Darrell (Terry) Beck of Fergus Falls; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Nicholas Beck of Fergus Falls; three sisters, Helen Junes of Bloomington, Eleanor Snyder of Bloomington, Carolyn (Ray) Tigue of Cummings, Ga.; three brothers, Willard (Corrienne) Beck of Spokane, Wash., Raymond (Lorna) Beck of Frazee, James (Barbara) Beck of Chattaroy, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee
