Marion Murtishaw Bridges, a retired vo-tech drafting instructor, was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She spent her adult life living first in Shreveport, Lousiana and then as a resident of Baton Rouge since 1986. After graduating from Louisiana State University, Marion married and had four children, two sons and two daughters. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Ingleside and later joined the United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. Marion was active in the United Methodist Women; Church Women United; Bible Study Fellowship; and Habitat for Humanity. Over the years, she found time to make seventeen trips to Monterrey, Mexico to help remodel a historic one hundred year-old Methodist seminary. Marion is survived by her husband; three of her children; her sister, Janice; a sister-in-law; eleven grandchildren; and a great grandson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Celeste.
