R.L. Logan II (also known as Ricky Michaels) was born 29 December 1975 in Torrance, Los Angeles County, California to R.L. Logan I and Martha Louise Wallace.
R.L.'s family lived in Long Beach when he was an infant but in 1977 they moved to Orange County, California. R.L. has four half-siblings through his father and two half-siblings through his mother.
On 31 March 1994, R.L. tried to pull a friend who was stabbed away from a group of guys who attacked him after a verbal altercation. R.L. was then stabbed in the chest and died at Placentia-Linda Hospital in Placentia, California. He was only 18 years old. Two of his friends that were also stabbed survived their injuries. The guys responsible for the stabbings were charged with first degree murder and, as of 2013, each are still serving a sentence of 25-years-to-life.
