Anna Marie Moen Saalsaa was born in Norway on the 1st of Jan. 1866. She came to this country to gather with her parents and settled in the township of Adams, Green Co., Wis. In 1888 she was united in marriage to Ever Saalsaa by Rev. Paulson. Here they made their home for a few years and in 1893 they moved to the present home where she passed away Jan. 20th, 1927 after a brief illness, at the age of 61 years, 20 days.
She was a true mother in the full meaning of the word to ten children who together with the husband mourn the loss of a devoted wife and fond mother. She was also a silver star war mother.
The children are: Clara, Clarence, Seymore, Goldie, Oscar, Carol, Anna, Edward, Ona and Myrto, also leaves 3 sisters, Mrs. John Hanson, Argyle, Mrs. Liza Evenstad, Darlington, Mrs. Ama Kolden, Blanchardville. 3 brothers, Ole and Christopher Moen, Black Earth, besides 3 grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the home and to the East Wiota church Jan. 25, 1927, with interment in the adjoining cemetery, Rev. W.O. Wilhelmsen officiating.
