Monday, Dec. 24, 1951 MERCERSBURG -- Funeral services were held at 9 o'cock this morning at the Lininger funeral chapel for Charles W. Balmer, 77, a lumberman, of Mercersburg RD1, who died Dec. 19 at his home. The Rev. Franjk H. Weller officiated and burial was made at Mt. Tunnel cemetery, Elizabethtown. Services were delayed because of difficult travel conditions. Mr. Balmer was born Oct. 9, 1874, son of the late Amaziah and Christiana Wheeland Balmer. He held membership in the Sons of Veterans of Elizabethtown. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertha E. Balmer, a daughter, Mrs. Beulah Graham, and four sons, Paul, Orville, Emory and Melvin Balmer, all of Pontiac, Mich. Six grandchildren also survive.
