Charlene A. Scott, age 80, of Shullsburg, WI, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014, at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, WI, surrounded by her family.

She was born February 13, 1934, in Council Hill in Jo Daviess County, IL, the daughter of Charles and Josephine (Gerbode) Redfearn. Charlene grew up in Council Hill and attended school in New Diggings, WI. She was united in marriage to Elmer Scott on February 17, 1951, in Shullsburg. Following their marriage, they farmed in Seymour Township on the Scott family farm. For the past year, Charlene has enjoyed living at Willow Valley Assisted Living in Shullsburg.

Charlene is survived by eight children, Linda (Robert) Mick, of Darlington, WI, Karla (Gary) Blackbourn, of Shullsburg, Diane Hammel, of Cuba City, WI, John (Linda) Scott, of Gratiot, WI, Bill Scott, of Shullsburg, Joan (David) Easley, of Marshall, WI, Clark (Diane) Scott, of Shullsburg, and George (Valerie) Scott, of Crawfordsville, IN; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer, on October 22, 2006; one son, Steven Scott, in 1956; one great-grandson, Jadin Leahy; two brothers, Donald and Milton Redfearn; and one sister, Elinor Watson.Charlene was a member of Pleasant View Primitive Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Charlene also loved playing a good game of cards and making homemade bread and pies.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 226 West Church Street in Shullsburg, with the Rev. Jeffrey A. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 1, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at O'Flahrity-Erickson Funeral Home, 235 North Judgement Street in Shullsburg.
