Hormidas G. Vient, 83, of 87 Weaver Rd., died Saturday in Mercy Hospital. Born in Canada, the son of of Moise and Alma (Morin) Vient, he was a resident here for the past 75 years. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, the Artesien Society and St. Jean de Baptiste Society, Council Garnier. Besides his wife, Mrs. Annonciata (Ritchott) Vient, he leaves a brother, Adelard of this city; a sister, Mrs. Anna Vient of this city; two stepbrothers, Oscar and Hector Menard of Montreal, Can.; and a stepsister, Mrs. Wilfred Corbeil of Montreal. The funeral home Tuesday at 9 a.m. with a requiem high mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee. Visiting hours Sunday and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 10. The St. Jean de Baptiste Society will meet at the funeral home Monday at 7.30 p.m. to recite the rosary.

The funeral of Hormidas G. Vient of 87 Weaver Rd., was held Tuesday morning at George St. Pierre and Sons funeral home with a requiem high mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Rev. George A. Berthiaume was the celebrant. Bearers were Roger, Conrad and Paul Ritchott, Laurent Vient, Ralph Peat and Lawrence LaFrancis. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee. Fr. Berthiaume read the committal prayers.
