OBITUARY
Madson Services to Be Held February 19

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Louise Madson of the Town of Morris, who died Saturday, February 16 at her home after being ill for the past three years, will be held Tuesday, February 19. The Reverend Pallmer Wahl will officiate at the rites which will be held at the Emanuel Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Uttormark Funeral Home at Tigerton, to the Madson home at 1 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Madson was born 71 years ago in Norway and at the age of 8 moved to America with her parents, who settled in Milwaukee and after two years moved to the Town of Almon.

In 1891 she married Nels Madson and resided in the Town of Morris till their deaths. Mr. Madson died in April 1933.

Children who survive her are Arthur, Town of Morris, Forest, Neenah, and Ethel (Mrs. Anthony Hoffman) of Tigerton, and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also four brothers, Ole and Charles Olson of Three Lakes, August Olson of Harshaw and William Olson of the Town of Almon.

Services for Mrs. Bertha Madson were held Tuesday

Mrs. Bertha Louise Madson, who has long been a resident of the Town of Morris, died at her home late Saturday, Feb. 16, after being ill for the past three years. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19 at Immanuel Lutheran church in Morris with Rev. Pallmer Wahl officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, with the Uttonmark Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Earl Boldig, Norman Holm, Carl Christianson, Carl Verg, Ed. Woltman, and Henry Lars. Marvin Holm sang.

Mrs. Madson was born March 3, 1874 at Sarpsborg, Norway, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Olson. At the age of 8 she came to America with her parents, who settled for two years in Milwaukee, when they moved to the Town of Almon.

On October 21, 1891 she was marrried to Nels Madson, and came to the Town of Morris to live. Mr. Madson died April 13, 1938.

Children who survive her are Arthur, Town of Morris; Forrest, Neenah; Ethel, Mrs. Anthony Hoffman, Tigerton; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also four brothers, Ole and Charles Olsen, Three Lakes; August, of Harshaw; and William, Town of Almon.

Out of town in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Madson, Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Olsen, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Olsen, Three Lakes; Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Madson, and family Neenah; Henry Fuss, Green Bay, and Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Olsen and son of Harshaw, and many other relatives and friends.

Nels and Bertha were the witnesses of the wedding of my great-grandmother, Oline Engebretsen (AKA Olson) to my step-great-grandfather Lars Olaf Tullberg January 6, 1891, in Morris.
