Mrs. Hardee, a Pitt County native, spent her early years as a homemaker and farmer with her husband and later worked as a supervisor for Hamilton Beach for 26 years. She was a member of Grimesland Free Will Baptist Church and recently had attended Grimesland Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Hardee, an avid gardener, loved flowers and was very devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. J. Hardee; son, Tommy Hardee; a granddaughter, Christal Cross; sisters, Annie Dickerson and Rachel Maines; and brothers, Wilbur and Marvin Gaskins. She is survived by daughters, Linda Jewell and husband Garland of Washington, N.C., Kathy Braxton of Simpson, and Vickie Cross and husband Danny of Grimesland; sons, Curtis Hardee and Danny Hardee both of Grimesland; sisters, Nancy Mills of Grimesland, and Janie Wadford of Greenville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
