Pauline's certified long form birth certificate as well as other family records list her biological father as Homer Franklin Eaton, who her mother May married on 21 Feb 1924 in a small town outside of Topeka, KS. They annulled their marriage in Jun 1924, and Pauline was born 26 Jan 1925 at the home of her paternal Eaton grandparents, Christopher Carriger Eaton and Rebecca Jane Ballew Eaton, 2533 Walrond, Kansas City, MO, the same address where Homer is listed. Homer also has a 1925 listing in the Kansas City, KS Directory, at 1113 Shawnee Ave, Kansas City, Wyandotte, KS, much closer to where he works at Proctor & Gamble.

Pauline would be adopted by her mother's second husband, Frank Elmer Higgins, and was welcomed by the entire Higgins family with open arms and open hearts. She knew no other father.
