HEART ATTACK FATAL
TO JOSEPH BOWMAN
Joseph A. Bowman, 70, 428 Mayne Street, died Saturday afternoon after suffering a heart attack at Poe's service station on West Park Drive where he worked as a part time employee.
Mr. Bowman had been in the hospital four weeks after suffering a previous attack about a year ago. He was dead on arrival at Huntington County Hospital Saturday afternoon and Dr. Paul M. Gray, county coroner, said death was due to coronary occlusion.
Mr. Bowman was born September 19, 1887, in Wayne Township to William and Sarah Buzzard Bowman and was married June 10, 1911 to Essie V. Rinehart, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Chester (Helen) Hedrick, Lancaster, O.; a son, Burnon Bowman, Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Stenn Bowman and Janet Hedrick; and two brothers, Odia Bowman, near Marion and John Bowman, Marion.
A sister, Mrs. Bessie Yates and a brother, Elmer Bowman, preceded Mr. Bowman in Death.
Mr. Bowman lived in Lancaster where he operated a grocery store and was employed by the state highway department before moving in 1943 to this city. He lived since 1945 at his current address. He was formerly employed as custodian of the post office.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bailey mortuary where funeral services will b e held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel with the Rev. W.C. Stinebaugh officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster cemetery.
