Robert was the son of George Franklin and Ada A. Purington (Morang). He was the brother of Richard Blaisdel(my grandfather), Olive, Lilla, and Winonna. He grew up in the state of Maine, in and around the small town of Hallowell. Robert was in the U.S. Navy, reaching the rank of Seaman 1st class. After the service he left Maine for Califorina, where he got married and raised his family on the dairy farm he bought. Robert was a 32 degree Mason......I had the pleasure of meeting Robert (my great uncle) back in the summer of 1966, when my family drove out to California with my grandfather (his brother) and my grandmother. They hadn't seen each other for over 40 plus years. It was a wonderful visit, with stories to last a lifetime....
